Matthew Curnier runs Capital Tuition Group, a UK tutoring company facing the industry-wide challenge of managing strict compliance requirements for tutors working with children. When he approached Codefree in October 2024, he had a partially built Bubble app with serious database and privacy issues that blocked client onboarding.
What started as a privacy fix evolved into a full rebuild: a flexible, multi-tenant SaaS platform that lets education organisations configure custom onboarding workflows, manage compliance documentation (DBS certificates, insurance, qualifications), and automate tutor approvals without drowning in email threads and spreadsheets.
Codefree architected and delivered a dynamic form builder with status management, payment integration, branded forms per institute, and secure external referee access—all built to scale from Capital Tuition's internal use to a commercial SaaS product.
UK tutoring compliance is rigorous: every tutor needs DBS checks, insurance verification, identity documents, and education certificates before working with children. Most organisations manage this through email chains, shared drives, and manual tracking—a recipe for missed deadlines, compliance gaps, and administrative burnout. Matthew's existing Bubble app had fundamental database design flaws and privacy rule gaps that made it unsafe to onboard real clients. Worse, every tutoring organisation runs slightly different processes, so any solution needed to be configurable without custom code for each client.

Codefree rebuilt the platform from the ground up in Bubble, starting with a secure, scalable database architecture and comprehensive privacy rules. The core innovation was a dynamic form builder that lets each institute configure their own onboarding workflows, document requirements, and approval stages—without touching code. Mohit Kumar Singh led the technical architecture, designing a system that balances flexibility with data integrity, supports recurring communications, connects multi-step forms, and enables white-label branding per client.
